Argentine MoD requests construction of third micro satellite

Argentina’s Ministry of Defence has requested that the Argentine Air Force completes construction of a third version in a line of locally developed micro satellites.

This third unit, named µSAT-3, is being built at the air force’s Centro de Investigaciones Aplicadas (CIA) with a staff of local engineers and CIA personnel. The low-cost micro satellite is to cover Argentine territory every four hours and carry two cameras to provide surveillance and imagery. The unit’s construction started four years ago and it is estimated to need another 18 months to complete.
