Harris Corporation has been named the preferred tenderer to provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with an integrated tactical communications network for voice and data services over line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight applications.

Disclosing its selection for project Land 2072 Phase 3 in a statement on 22 April, the company described the programme as a critical part of the Australian Army’s networked digitalisation plan.

The value of the anticipated contract was not disclosed, but the company said work was expected to begin in 2017 and be completed in 2020.

The ADF already uses Harris Falcon III multiband, multimode radios in manpack, handheld, and vehicular configurations for wideband tactical networking capabilities.
