Argentina’s first Lockheed Martin KC-130H to be modernised by L-3 Aerospace Systems in Waco, Texas, arrived on 20 April after 18 months outside the country.
The upgrade included installation of a full ‘glass’ cockpit (Rockwell Collings Flight 2 system) and modernisation of all communication and navigation systems. As part of the deal, the aircraft returned with four repaired and upgraded refuelling pods with added night capabilities (two for this aircraft and two more for another unit of the same version), as well as four kits to locally upgrade the air force’s remaining C-130H aircraft to the same standard, and a C-130H simulator.
