Lockheed Martin has received a USD116.8 million contract to build 100 additional AGM-158B Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile-Extended Range (JASSM-ER) stealthy cruise missiles for the US Air Force (USAF), the company announced on 21 April.
The USAF exercised an option under the 14th production lot, which included 146 baseline JASSMs for the USAF and international partners and 140 JASSM-ERs for the USAF. The December 2015 deal was worth USD302.2 million.
Lockheed Martin is expected to complete work on the additional 100 JASSM-ERs by June 2019, the company said. The award brings the total number of JASSM and JASSM-ER missiles delivered or under contract to more than 2,700.
