Bolivian Minister of Defense Reymi Ferreira announced on 12 May the acquisition of a fleet of nine Zlin Z242L ‘Guru’ airplanes at a total cost of USD2.7 million.

The aircraft are expected to arrive in mid-July.

The Zlin Z242L is a rugged all-metal basic/advanced aerobatic aircraft intended for VFR day/night and IFR training. Capable of performing manoeuvers at +6/-3.5 g and certified by European and North American aviation authorities, the aircraft is in use with the Mexican Navy and the Croatian, Slovenian, and Peruvian air forces.
