British member of EU parliament urges UK Kurds to vote Remain

Charles Tannock, representative of the city of London and member of the European Parliament, urges Kurds in the United Kingdom to vote Remain in today’s referendum on European Union membership.

Tannock, chairman of Friends of Kurdistan in the European Parliament, said that Kurds have many friends in Europe. Friends that may be lost of the UK leaves the European Union, he warned.

“If you have your referendum, I can assure you, I will be one of the loudest voices if you declare independence, to support your campaign for an independent Kurdistan. Frankly, without your friends in the European Union, you will have far less influence in progressing and promoting your cause.”
