Kanhaiya cautioned against extremism that destroyed Pakistan and was now taking roots in India on the alibi of religious revivalism.
Accusing the government of doublespeak, Kanhaiya wondered why a “strong government” was shying away from declaring Pakistan a terrorist state. “Let us take the initiative,” he said, adding, “Pleading with USA and other countries to notify Pakistan a terrorist state would not do. The world listens to the strong.”
The student leader alleged that real issues like poverty, hunger, price rise and unemployment have been deliberately sidelined and a fake narrative around issues like Uniform Civil Code and Love Jihad was being created to cover the delivery deficit of the Centre.
Ridiculing Uttar Pradesh CM Aditya Nath Yogi, Kanhaiya said more than anti-Romeo squads, the country needed anti-hunger squads. Instead of harassing young boys and girls, the government machinery should be programmed to identify the hungry, malnourished, sick and unemployed and do something to provide succour to the suffering masses.
Kanhaiya also smelled conspiracy in last year’s ‘pulse shortage’ and called it a Rs1,76,000 crore scam. He even identified two big business houses as the beneficiaries of the ‘pulse scam’.
Calling the RSS’s often demonstrated love for Ambedkar as ‘fake’, Kanhaiya said Sawarkar and not Ambedkar was the saffron brigade’s role model. He challenged RSS to shun Manusmriti to prove its Ambedkarite credentials.
Improvising his Azadi slogan, Kanhaiya said the country wanted freedom from ‘suit boot’.
