Navy awards five-year ISR contract

The Navy has awarded four seats on a potential five-year contract vehicle for support services in areas related to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and information operations.

Awardees will vie for task orders over the ordering period and the Navy received five bids for the contract, the Defense Department said in its Thursday contracts digest.

All winners have different ceilings that add up to $155.3 million combined over a two-year base period followed by a three-year option.

Contract details are as follows:

  • BAE Systems Inc.: base value of $17.2 million, ceiling of $44.4 million
  • Northrop Grumman: base value of $15.6 million, ceiling of $40.4 million
  • Science Applications International Corp.: base value of $13.7 million, ceiling of $34.7 million
  • Scientific Research Corp.: base value of $13.9 million, ceiling of $35.7 million

Northrop and SAIC are incumbents from the predecessor contract awarded in 2012, while BAE and SRC are newcomers for this iteration. Other incumbents CGI Federal, Engility Corp. and General Dynamics were not selected for the new contract.

The predecessor contract carried a $379 million ceiling over five years.

Contract work will include systems engineering, software development and test-and-evaluation support services for the Navy’s ocean, airborne, land and space platforms.

The work will take place in San Diego in support of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific.
