Brig. Gen. (Select) Lorna Mahlock has taken over as the CIO and director of command, control, communications, and computers (C4) for the U.S. Marine Corps.

She previously served as the deputy director of plans, policies, and operations at Marines headquarters in Washington, D.C., and was the commanding officer for Marine Air Control Group 18 in Okinawa, Japan.

Mahlock succeeds acting CIO and C4 Deputy Director Kenneth Bible who filled in after Brig. Gen. Dennis Crall left the post earlier this year.

Mahlock, who took on the position in May, was nominated for promotion to brigadier general in April. Her promotion ceremony is set to take place in early August.
