AIM Norway agrees to buy Pratt & Whitney Belgium Engine Center

Kjeller, Norway, 14. June 2016: AIM Norway will acquire the Pratt & Whitney Belgium Engine Center (BEC), a military jet engine overhaul center that services certain models of the F100 engine which powers F-15 and F-16 aircraft around the globe. This strengthen AIM Norway’s international capabilities and provides BEC with continued solid ownership.

AIM Norway is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Defence and supplies maintenance, repair and modification services for aircraft, helicopters, components and field equipment to the Norwegian Armed Forces and other military and civilian organizations. BEC is a one-stop shop for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of F100-PW-220 and F100-PW-229 engines, powering the fighters F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Opening new markets

With the acquisition of BEC, a new market opens for AIM Norway. BEC currently services armed forces in 14 countries, including Denmark, Netherlands, Poland and Portugal. In addition, BEC are well positioned to become the engine center for the F-35 aircraft, future market with substantial potential.
