Statement by the Ministry of National Defence
We would like to remind you, since the tender began for the helicopters for the Polish Armed Forces, that the previous Citizens’ Platform (PO)—Polish People’s Party (PSL) coalition government placed the Caracal helicopter in a privileged position, to the extent that the then Minister of National Defence, Tomasz Siemoniak, unlawfully changed the initial assumptions and technical-tactical assumptions.
Negotiations on this issue, which lasted for more than a year, were led by the Ministry of Development and they have not been broken off, but ended.
Public opinion has been misled, in that the French side had suggested 6,000 jobs were to be offered to Polish workers, because in the city of Łódź employment was proposed for about 200 people.
Libel and slander directed at Mr. Anthony Macierewicz, the head of the Defence Ministry, are actions that are a detriment to the security of the State.
The Minister of National Defence has invited 3 firms that participated in the previous proceedings for the selection of multi-role helicopters. Invitations have been extended to PLZ Mielec, PLZ Świdnik and Airbus.
This is a new procedure in the framework of urgent operational needs reported by Poland’s Armed Forces.
