Jadhav’s death sentence a right decision, there is not much India can do : Pakistani daily

Kulbhushan Jadhav’s sentencing is a “right decision” and a “very strong message by Pakistan to India”, Pakistan’s newspaper The Nation said in its editorial today.

The right-wing english news daily said Pakistan should not hold back any punches because anyhow “India wants Pakistan to be destroyed.”

“With PM Modi and the BJP spewing vitriol about Pakistan, there is not much worse that India can do,” The Nation said.

The news daily went on to say that the likely fallout on the peace process is notwithstanding because according to the paper “in reality there is no peace process.”

“There are concerns that India is using covert means to foment violence in the country with an aim to undermine CPEC” it said.

The Nation is owned by Nawa-i-Qawt group, which is traditionally aligned to Pakistani establishment and is known for India bashing.

Earlier in the day, India warned Pakistan that execution of Kulbhushan Jadhav would be taken as “pre-meditated murder” and Islamabad should consider its consequences on bilateral relations.

“I would caution the Pakistan government to consider the consequences for our bilateral relationship if they proceed on this matter,” Swaraj said categorically in Parliament.
