RSS working to change demography of J&K: Gilani

In Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that extremist Hindu organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, having fanatic mindset is working under a well-thought-out plan to change the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the reports of proposed public meeting being organized in Jammu by the RSS. He said, after Jammu region, Kashmir is the next target of RSS for furthering their bigoted agenda. “These fanatical elements in 1947, brutally massacred five lakh Muslims while fifteen lakh were compelled to migrate,” he said. “Not only do these communal forces seem to be preparing a ground for another massacre of Jammu Muslims but even state subject certificates are being issued to non-Kashmiris,” he added.

The APHC Chairman pointed out that since the inception of BJP-led regime in Delhi, these forces were hatching conspiracies and had turned Jammu a base station for their communal activities in Kashmir. “Communal forces are distributing arms and providing training to Jan Sangh workers. Members of Muslim community are harassed and intimidated on one or the other pretext and higher officials belonging to Muslim community are transferred to far flung areas,” he said. “We are keeping a close vigil and collecting details as such activities are detrimental. We will do whatever is possible and will not leave Muslim community in Jammu at the mercy of these fanatic forces,” he added.

Syed Ali Gilani also paid glowing tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone. He said that the best way to pay tributes to the martyrs was to carry forward their mission. He prayed for highest place in Jannah for all the martyrs of Kashmir.

APHC leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, in a statement in Srinagar also paid homage to Molvi Farooq, Khawaja Lone and Hawal martyrs. He also condemned the puppet authorities for arresting the Hurriyet leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, and booking him under draconian law, Public Safety Act.

On the other hand, the APHC spokesman, Ayaz Akbar, in a statement expressed concern over the reported deteriorating health conditions of illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League leader, Tariq Ahmad Ganai, in Kupwara jail and 75-year-old Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leader, Master Ali Muhammad, at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. He said that these ailing detainees were neither being treated nor released to facilitate their proper medical care. He appealed to the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of the plight of Kashmiri detainees and use their influence for their immediate release.
